As 2017 ended, Chinese tire manufacturer Triangle Tyre announced it would invest $580 million to build its first U.S. plant in Tarboro, N.C., creating 800 jobs at the eastern North Carolina site.
That project followed the opening of Linamar Corp.'s $200 million aluminum die-casting plant in the state in partnership with Switzerland's GF Automotive. Linamar CEO Linda Hasenfratz recently noted that Linamar now has four plants in the state and added, "There are more plans coming in the future."
