Photos have surfaced of a new Buick electric vehicle undergoing road testing in Michigan.
The disguised vehicle appears to be based on the brand's Electra-X concept, which debuted in China in June. Buick said the Electra-X is designed with sporty, coupelike features, including a trapezoidal grille and "check mark" headlights, and is aimed at younger buyers.
It's unclear whether the vehicle — which some spy photographers are calling the Electra E4 — will be sold in the U.S.

Images show a reworked front end with a new trapezoidal grille and similar check mark-style headlights as the Electra-X concept in China and the brand's Wildcat electric concept in the U.S. It also features Buick's new streamlined tri-shield logo.
A brand spokesman declined to comment on future products.
Buick plans to go all-electric by 2030 and has said all of its EVs will carry the Electra badge along with an alphanumeric designation to distinguish each model. Forecasters expect two Buick electric crossovers to go on sale in 2024 or 2025 using the Electra naming configuration. Both will be built in China. Buick has confirmed plans for one of those crossovers.
Last month, a larger Buick electric crossover was photographed under wraps during road testing in Michigan. Also, photos of the larger Buick Electra E5 were made public in China.
