A malfunctioning car elevator at a dealership in Florida mangled a Ferrari and created an unusual challenge for firefighters.
The mishap last week at Ferrari of Palm Beach left the car dangling and leaking fuel in the elevator shaft, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue wrote on its Facebook page. The fire department cut the store's power and set up portable standpipes to prevent the fuel from igniting while firefighters sealed off the leak.
A towing company used a 45-foot boom and several 50,000-pound winches to extract the car without causing additional damage to the dealership.
The operation took about four hours, and no one was injured.
